GB Lubricants is proud to support a wide variety of charities from local projects to large national campaigns. Last month GB Lubricants’ employees continued their annual support for the charity ‘Breast Cancer Now’ in their special event ‘Wear it Pink’ as part of breast cancer awareness month.
GB Lubricants has been supporting the charity for over 7 years with employees from across the company wearing pink clothing throughout the day to show their support as well as other activities to raise vital funds.
Special note goes to warehouse operative, Dan Taylor who has been with GB Lubricants for over 6 years. As a special effort to raise additional funds Dan dyed his hair bright pink to go that extra mile for the charity. Dan explained why he felt it was important to show solidarity with this worthy cause, “I wanted to do something to support a good cause and try and raise some money. I’ve been very lucky that nobody in my family has had breast cancer but I know people who have had it and it’s a hard time for everyone affected including their family members. I’ve never done anything like this before but it is nothing compared to what women who are suffering with breast cancer go through. I’m just glad I could do a little something to raise some money. My next charity challenge is to try and walk 100 miles over 5 days in support for a veteran charity. I will be camping out overnight and walking with 40kg on my back.
Thanks to the brilliant efforts of Dan and the rest of the GB Lubricants employees, a fantastic total of £535.50 has been raised for Breast Cancer Now.
