GB Lubricants’ Managing Director, Paul Booth, is taking on the Great North Run this Sunday. He is completing the 13.1 miles all in aid of The British Heart Foundation, a charity that funds life-saving medical research into heart and circulatory diseases. They fund around £100 million of research each year, from 3D printed hearts and internal defibrillators to regenerative medicine. The British Heart Foundation have helped improve and save the lives of many people.
This charity is close to Paul’s heart, as he lost a dear friend suddenly last year. This is Paul’s first Great North Run, and he has been training vigorously to ensure he gets through this amazing challenge. He has clocked up 162km over the last 9 weeks in preparation for the run, a tough training regime for a tough run.
The Great North Run is the world’s biggest half-marathon with 60,000 runners. Paul will be running the 13.1 miles through the streets of the Northeast of England, passing very close to the GB Lubricants manufacturing site along the way. Also running the Great North Run this weekend will be GB Lubricants’ Technical Manager, Paul Crozier, who is also running this event for the first time. Everyone at GB Lubricants would like to wish them the best on Sunday.
