Employees of GB Lubricants have an additional motivation to offer support for an upcoming charity challenge. Amanda Byrne, GB Lubricants’ Regional Sales and Marketing Manager’s husband, is taking part in a sponsored 24-hour motorbike challenge. They are riding on motorbikes that have cost no more than £600, from Land’s End to John O’Groats, a distance of over 1,000 miles, all done on A and B roads, avoiding motorways, to be completed in 24 hours!
This ambitious charity challenge is all in aid of Cancer Research UK, a fantastic charity that has helped to double cancer survival in the UK in the last 50 years. Nearly 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime, so it is crucial that we continue to support charities that are helping people all across the country with this life-changing disease.
Gary has been working hard to collect donations for this fantastic cause, raising an incredible £930 so far. GB Lubricants will be donating £250 on top of this, which will take him over his target of £1000.
Amanda Byrne commented, “We are all really proud of the challenge that Gary is taking on, and our family really appreciates the support that GB Lubricants is donating to this fantastic cause. Gary has been preparing on the bike for this challenge over the last few weeks. As you can imagine, riding on bikes of this age for a long period of time can be pretty uncomfortable, but we know Gary is up to the challenge and will see it through to the end to make sure he can raise as much as possible for this incredible charity.”
The challenge is to take place on Saturday, 21st June. You can donate to his fundraising page by clicking here: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/gary-byrne
