It’s National Apprenticeship Week and GB Lubricants would like to celebrate its amazing apprentices. In 2024 GB Lubricants joined the 5% club, a group of employers committed to building a workforce in earn & learn positions with the goal being to build a prosperous and skilled nation by inspiring other employers across the country to create more of these positions within their own businesses. These earn & learn job opportunities enable people to train, retrain, and upskill within their roles.
At the start of last year, Connick Hope joined the team as a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, he is now halfway through his apprenticeship, which will be over 2 years. This is an exciting role as he is working closely with colleagues when they are researching and developing new oil and lubricant technologies.
Previously GB Lubricants had a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Apprentice, Thomas Brennan, who is now a fully qualified Mechanical Maintenance Technician after 3 years of hard work!
GB Lubricants’ Chief Operations Officer, Simon Taylor said: “GB Lubricants is keen to continue the development of more employees like Thomas in earn-and-learn positions throughout the business, as it not only allows fresh ideas to filter through, but it also strengthens the business in key areas.”
