GB Lubricants’ Employees become Giving Day Champions

GB Lubricants are no strangers to supporting community projects. Throughout 2022 employees at the Gateshead based oils, lubricants & grease manufacturer, and distributor, arranged various fundraising activities to raise much needed donations for St Oswald’s Hospice. The local hospice based in the North East, uses these funds to provide support and outstanding, specialist and expert care to adults and children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

As part of GB Lubricants fundraising efforts, employees from around the company completed multiple challenges including the ‘100km in May’ challenge. In this mighty team event, employees either individually or as a group completed 100km by running, walking, cycling, swimming or a combination of all four. This included a special effort from Operations Manager, Simon Taylor who completed 112km in one day alone.

Due to the fundraising efforts by the GB Lubricants team and how this local charity resonates with staff and their families, Managing Director, Paul Booth has recently announced that the company will continue to support the charity throughout 2023.

To celebrate this continuation, employees at GB Lubricants took part in the St Oswald’s ‘Giving Day’ event. On the 28^th March, the hospice hosted a 33 hour fundraising campaign which aimed to raise £300,000. With donations and the combined support from the GB Lubricants’ employees, customers, and suppliers, the company managed to contribute an amazing £3,085 towards St Oswald’s goal, making them ‘Giving Day Champions’. By the end of the campaign St Oswald’s had raised an incredible £314,000, which will benefit each and every one of the children and adults from across the community, to whom the hospice is a lifeline.

Paul Booth Commented “We are very proud to support and raise money for such a worthwhile cause in St Oswald’s Hospice, who do such an incredible job in caring for so many people and their families in the North East. GB Lubricants employees have always put great pride and passion in all that they do and the charity has a special place in people’s hearts. So hopefully we can continue to raise as much as possible for this incredible charity for a second year.”
