Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

In these uncertain times caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19), I wanted to reach out to you personally about what we are doing here at GB Lubricants to support you with your oil and lubricants requirements.

The key message is Business as Usual.

As an essential industry we are committed to maintaining supplies to our customers which includes emergency vehicle fleets, medical supply vehicles, freight and food distribution companies, and the network of agricultural vehicles who are mobilising to meet our food requirements. We supply electricity generators and manufacturing businesses who make essential provisions such as food products and hospital equipment which means it is vital that we continue production.

Demand is rising. We are being asked to provide larger than usual volumes to a number of customers to ensure the local availability of lubricants and thanks to the outstanding support and dedication of our staff we are maintaining production to meet this demand. Deliveries are unaffected but we would ask you to tell us if you have any special arrangements that we need to observe. Our drivers will maintain a safe distance from your staff and they are equipped to maintain high standards of hygiene.

Our top priority is the health and wellbeing of our customers and staff. The key to this is following government recommendations closely.

Our production site is still operating at full capacity. Whilst we are currently not experiencing any issues within our raw material supply chain, we have nevertheless increased raw material inventory where possible to ensure additional security of supply should this situation change over the forthcoming weeks, so by planning now we are in a strong and robust position.

GB Lubricants are doing all they can to protect their staff and customers, and these are some of the many steps we’ve already taken to minimise any risks:

  • The strictest hygiene standards are being followed at all our sites, with hand sanitiser stations around the business, disinfectant sprays and alcohol wipes at work stations and in offices, increased frequency of cleaning, and of course most importantly ensuring all staff wash their hands fully and regularly with soap and warm water.

  • All non-essential travel in the business has been cancelled and all internal and external events have been postponed.

  • We are getting as many support staff that can work from home out of our production site to reduce contact and to make sure we can continue to provide excellent service should the situation change. The remaining essential on site staff are then following strict social distancing measures and segregation within our facility at all times.

As the situation evolves, we are continuing to follow advice from the UK Government here: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response.

So please continue to place orders. Once again if you have any specific delivery requirements then please let us know and we will do our utmost to meet them.

Orders can be placed in the usual ways and just to repeat them:

Sales Order emails: gblsales@gblubricants.co.uk.

Sales Order Office line: + 44 (0) 191 490 4312

Or by contacting your local GB Sales Representative directly via their mobile or email in the normal manner.

Equally if you need support or advice on your order please just get in touch using the methods above.

As always for Technical enquiries our Technical Helpdesk remains fully operational and can be contacted via the office on + 44 (0) 191 490 4312 or directly on email at technical@gblubricants.co.uk.

And of course keep up to date via our website www.gblubricants.co.uk and social media.

We appreciate your understanding as the situation evolves and reassure you that we are available to fulfil your oil and lubricants requirements and support you wherever possible.

May I finally send my sincere best wishes to you, your colleagues and all of your respective families during this uncertain time.

Kind regards,

Paul Booth
